Scope of Practice

Our Birmingham, Alabama, practice is limited to the specialty of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, also referred to as Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT). Both adult and pediatric (including newborn) patients are welcome. Major surgery of the face and neck region (including that required for cancer treatment) is within the scope of the practice.  Other areas of specialty interest include endoscopic sinus surgery.

The service of an audiologist, Jennifer Burnham, MS, CCC-A is available in the office for hearing and balance testing as well as hearing aid evaluation and dispensing.

The Voice Disorders Center of Birmingham is also located here.  Advanced techniques for diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders are available, including videostroboscopy and botox injection. The practice believes in the team approach to the management of voice disorders utilizing the disciplines of Speech Pathology, Neurology, and Vocal Pedagogy when recommended. Dan Phillips, MA, CCC-SLP is the speech pathologist, providing evaluations and voice therapy when appropriate. Patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders are also seen for therapy.
